1st blog post

What on earth do I write here? I feel like I’ve started so many blogs in my little millennial life (my first was probably in ICT class at secondary school), and yet I do one post and then forget about it. A graveyard of blogs.

But I guess I’m committed, as I’m writing this post on a paid domain. PAID. This is most likely an AuDHD impulse purchase…but the thought of someone else having this URL compelled me enough to buy it for a year. It’s pay day after all.

If you’re still here reading this, then thank you. I’m not sure what I can offer you but I am hoping that this blog will hold a little bit of accountability for both my reading and writing.

I guess that’s something I want to set straight: first and foremost, I am a reader before I am a writer. I don’t think I can truly call myself a writer at the moment, as my current writing is usually work-related fundraising copy and not the creative fun stuff I did my degree in, way back in 2012 (I’m going to politely ignore the fanfiction I wrote during the pandemic. We don’t want to see that). My aim with this blog, I suppose, is to have an unmasked journey of both what I’m reading and what I will hopefully be writing. I want to write more for myself. And I guess I want to take you on the journey.

Will I look back at this first blog post in a year or two, full of cringe? Most likely. Will this blog post be lost in time, only ever known by me? Also quite possible. Time will tell.
